Staff have been great, really friendly and helpful. They’ve been quick and informative with appointments
you staff don’t know what they’re doing
Arrived for follow-up in Fracture Clinic at 10 am Sent to X-Ray prior to appointment which was very busy. My expectation was that there would be a very long wait to be seen but this was not so. I was out of the Department having had xrays and a consultation with the Orthopaedic Surgeon and seen in Plaster Clinic and left the hospital less than an hour after my appointed time .. I would like to receive copies of my clinic letters following my treatment for my fractured humerus as I have not had these through the NHS Portal although I understand my GP has received them. Thank you
The midwife on duty Laura was amazing throughout my stay and delivery of baby. After a scary unpredicted preterm labour, she kept me calm, informed and advocated for me at all times. She made me feel really comfortable and kept my spirits high at one of the scariest times of my life. After Jaime took over she was also amazing and made sure I felt comfortable, safe and well fed! I cannot thank both midwife’s for enough they made the scariest of experiences more bareable!!
All the staff we met during our time on labour ward were amazing. They helped us with everything we needed and were so supportive. Special mention to Jenna, Laura, Kim and Estarah, that looked after us they were all amazing and made the whole experience so special.
Normally whenever I’ve visited antenatal clinic we are seen within 30/40mins. However on my visit today it took them an hour and half to see me, I understand things are tight and can be stretched but for them to not come in and apologise for the wait.
Also whilst on a previous visit a C-section was discussed and signed for with a different consultant and today a different consultant questioned why I was having a C-section.
This made me feel very uncomfortable and belittled.

Jennie Parker MW was fantastic after a worrying encounter with my consultant. Jennie spent time with me answer all my questions and I left feeling listened to and informed (5th Sept 23 and 6th Sept 23).
Dr Jo Maloney (6th Sept 23) took great time and care to help me understand the next steps of my care and answered all of my questions. I very much appreciate her spending the time with me to explain all aspects
Gill Ibbotson was very reassuring and helpful through out my Appt, caring and compassionate and keeping me informed of what was happening. I hope they all know a difference they have made to my peace of mind leaving my Appt today.
The individual doing my scan was very rude and uncaring. She did not talk me through what she was doing as every sonographer has previously. When I asked a question as to whether it’s normal that it should be painful she became very abrupt and snapped at me asking “shall I stop the scan” without answering my question. The worst experience I have had during my antenatal journey! Further to this I had to wait over an hour to be seen.
The ward was over crowded and understaffed. The staff played the radio loudly in the middle of the night and talked constantly. Little attempt was made to be quiet for patients and their babies. Pain relief was often slow to be administered, meaning that it was ineffective by the time it was taken as the pain was too severe. Staff laughed at me for forgetting to remove my post-surgical stockings before going for a shower. Curtains did not surround the beds properly and it was very difficult to get out of bed after a c-section with dignity, particularly when other patients’ partners were around. Nobody ever cleaned my table and there was no equipment available for me to do it myself. There was a lack of appreciation for the fact that I am an older mother and this meant my recovery was slower than when I had children in my 20s.
Staff are brilliant
